Daddy's Page
(Charles Gary Gryder)
I never got to be daddy's little girl,
Kept miles apart and tears away
We never went to the park on a sunny day,
To run and jump, swing and play
I am now grown, many years have passed,
Time seemed to slip by way to fast
Now you tell me you must go away,
I never really thought about that day
This is Gods will and I will accept it,
In his loving hands you will soon be
Embraced by his love, you will be free,
You'll soar with the Angels above the trees
This is all part of a greater plan,
One that is hard for us to understand
I shall not question, but look forward to,
That day, when it comes, I'll be with you
Keep this in your heart on your last days,
In the streets of Heaven, we will soon play
For it is my hope when I leave this world,
At last and forever I will be;
The one I should have been,
"Daddy's little girl"
